Our Story

Welcome to Lago Cellars Winery & Event Center

We are delighted to welcome you to Lago Cellars Winery and Event Center.

Lago Cellars is a member of the Ohio Wine Producers AssociationLago has 3 distinct offerings (which is symbolized by the 3 dots in our logo).

      • Lago Cellars Wines
      • Chocolate Bar and Tasting Room
      • Italian Restaurant & Event Center

Lago Cellars Winery & Event Center offers some of the best that the Grand River Valley AVA has to offer. We have partnered with various local wine makers to produce our wines, following specific family recipes and production processes that create outstanding wines. Lago Cellars is in the process of planting vineyards onsite and has been recognized by the Ohio Wine Producers Association. In a few short years, we will be able to add estate wines to our offering.

In addition to our Lago Cellars Wines, we are Ashtabula County’s only venue where guests can enjoy local wines in addition to our Lago Cellars Wines. This provides the unique experience of comparing and contrasting different Grand River Valley wines in tasting flights. Our guests love the ability to try 4 – 8 different area Chardonnays (or other varietals) in our tasting room!

Glass of wine with a desert tray.In 2025, a Chocolate Bar was added to our tasting room. “Wine is better with Chocolate”. Pairing wine with chocolate is a traditional pastime for many. We have taken this to an entirely different level at Lago. Savor the notes of a full-bodied cabernet sauvignon while sipping it through a dark chocolate rimmed wine glass. Blending chocolate and wine in every single sip! To expand this concept, we have added a variety of chocolate cocktails, homemade desserts, and our famed chocolate-charcuterie board! All chocolate and desserts are made fresh in our kitchen. Come experience our Chocolate Bar!!

Lago Cellars Winery & Event Center was opened in July of 2024 and primarily focused on the fine dining aspect of our restaurant, specializing in regional Italian cuisines and traditional 5 and 7 course Italian dinners. We have revised our menu since then and have moved into more of a traditional Italian offering. Making pasta from scratch in our kitchen, using imported Italian wheat, is still the core of our dining experience. All of our sauces are made to order, and the focus continues to be on fresh ingredients and quality.

Seating is limited for dinner, so we recommend making reservations.

Looking forward to serving you often
